When should I order my wedding stationery?
This depends on what you need.
Save the Dates: The best time to order save the dates is 10-12 months before your wedding date so they can be sent out on time. The best time to send out save the dates is 6-8 months before your wedding date. I recommend 8 months for out-of-town guests and 6 or 7 months for local guests.
Invitations: The best time to order wedding invitations is 6-8 months before your wedding date so they can be sent out on time. The best time to send out wedding invitations is 6-10 weeks before your wedding date. I recommend 8-10 weeks for out-of-town guests to give them enough time to plan, and 6-8 weeks for local guests.
Day-of Stationery and Signage: These items can be ordered anywhere from 2-20 weeks before your wedding date. If you have these details finalized early, great! But I know some wedding details are finalized just a few weeks before the big day, and some details change last minute!
Accessories: Accessories, such as wax seals or belly bands, should be ordered with your invitations.
Engagement Party Invitations: The best time to order engagement party invitations is 12-14 weeks before the event date so they can be sent out on time. The ideal time to send out engagement party invitations is 4-6 weeks before the event.
Rehearsal Dinner Invitations: I recommend ordering these with your wedding invitations and sending them out with your invitations as well. However, if you wish to send them out separately, I recommend ordering these 3-4 months before your event so they can be sent out on time.
